Three of WOW’s hottest newcomers have crossed each other’s path, and the results were—shall we say—heated!

In the ‘Battle of the Elements,’ two of WOW’s most marketable stars locked horns and engaged in a fierce battle to determine who was the best rising star. Fire, the untamable beauty from the Sunset Strip, battled the decorated Olympian, Frost. Fire entered as somewhat of an underdog. Frost’s competitive nature and athletic background consistently put the odds ever in her favor. It seems, however, that Frost’s past finally came back to bite her.

Not long ago, Frost made an enemy in another one of WOW’s newest competitors: Azucar, the Sweet Sensation from Mexico City. The bubbly Latina with a zest for life had crossed paths with Frost prior to the ‘Battle of the Elements.’ Frost was disqualified in the match for refusing to relinquish a submission maneuver—her patented Frostbite Figure Four. After refusing to break the hold, referees had no choice but disqualify Frost. Having no regard for authority or her opponents in the ring, Frost showed the ultimate sign of disrespect and stripped Azucar of her pride and her heritage by removing her trademark mask. A dejected Azucar was helped to the back by officials as Frost stayed in the ring to gloat and berate the fans.

As Frost and Fire waged war in the ring, a familiar face entered the arena. Azucar graced the fans with her presence. After seeing Azucar on-stage, Frost turned her attention away from Fire. Azucar and Frost traded verbal barbs at one another as the fans marveled at what was transpiring. This gave Fire time to recover. When Frost turned around, Fire hit Frost with her signature move; the ‘3rd Degree Burn,’ and that sealed the fate of Frost. Fire celebrated with WOW fans at ringside and returned to the back as Frost had a meltdown in—and out—of the ring. Frost grabbed the microphone at ringside, threw things around at ringside, and grabbed a cameraman so that she may deliver her chilling eulogy to those that had wronged her.

“I’m Frost. Feel my chill. Meet my meltdown. I defeated Azucar and Fire regardless of how the ref ruled. I want a title shot!”

There is no telling where this tumultuous triangle and Frost title shot demands will go, but one thing is for certain; if you want to see the action for yourself be at the next WOW live event.

In the main event, the WOW Tag Team Championship changed hands as the experienced team of the All-American Girls overcame the efforts of long-time champions, Caged Heat. It was a hard fought battle as battle-tested veterans battled it out over the most prestigious tandem championship in the sport: the WOW World Tag Team Championship.

Caged Heat walked in as champions. Their reign was unprecedented. They stood tall over all other competitors. Many had stepped up to test them and challenge them. Everyone from Harley’s Angles to the Bully Busters thought they were good enough to dethrone the ex-convicts from the tag team glory. However, a team with the chemistry of Loca and Delta Lotta Pain seemed insurmountable. Nearly thirteen years together as a tag team in professional wrestling made them one of the most tenured, experienced teams to ever hold tag team gold around their waist.

The challengers walked in with the odds stacked against them. There may have been nearly two decades of experience between Amber O’Neal and Santana Garrett, but the two young competitors had not spent a great deal of time together as a team. Known for their fierce singles careers, both fighters found themselves with a common bond when they stepped into WOW. What kind of chemistry that would yield remained to be seen.

However, on that night—January 19, 2013—everything came together for the mighty challengers. Instinct took over and their natural aptitudes guided them throughout this hellacious contest. A lack of communication and in-fighting between Caged Heat developed an opening for the All-American Girls. Sure enough, the veterans of the ring saw their moment and seized it. When the referee slammed his hand to the mat a third time, it was all said and done. The All-American Girls had finally captured the WOW Tag Team Championship of the World.

Tears rained down from the eyes of the fatigued competitors. Fans jumped for joy with adulation pouring from them for the warriors in the ring. The emotional new champions were quickly greeted by WOW President, David McLane, who got a few words from the champions before legions of fans swarmed the ring to help celebrate in the moment.

Overall, it was an emotional night full of hard work, sweat, and tears for our new champions. Please join us on March 9th when the new champions are finally christened and inaugurated for all of their dedication to this tremendous industry. Tickets are still available. Be there at the Eastside Cannery Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV and share in the dream with these two celebrated competitors.

On January 19, 2013, one of WOW’s most experienced grapplers made her explosive return to the ring. The animalistic, savage, and relentless veteran known only to WOW fans as ‘Jungle Grrrl’ came back to her old hunting grounds of WOW – Women Of Wrestling, and she didn’t miss a beat.

The last time we had seen Jungle Grrrl, she was the most feared competitor in WOW. She racked up an impressive undefeated streak, leaving many, many victims in her path…including taking out Beckie the Farmer’s Daughter to become named the “Queen of the Splash.” It seemed there was no one left for Jungle Grrrl to decimate, but time can change many things.

On that January night in Las Vegas, Jungle Grrrl returned to face one of WOW’s most promising newcomers: Tatevik ‘The Gamer.’ Tatevik—a respectful, gracious competitor—reveled in the fact that she had the high honor of facing one of WOW’s most seasoned stars. However, Tatevik’s elation soon gained a glimmer of regret.

In a controversial finish, Jungle Grrrl executed a picturesque German Suplex to Tatevik. Courtesy of the results of a grueling, physical match, Jungle Grrrl could not prevent her shoulders from touching the mat at the exact same time as Tatevik’s. In the end, two referees simultaneously counted the pinfall on both women. Ultimately, a slew of referees decided that the match was a DRAW.

The post-match events became heated when WOW President, David McLane, and fans in the arena decided that a re-match must take place. Jungle Grrrl was less than satisfied. She got on the microphone and claimed that she had beaten Tatevik and all she wanted was a chance at the WOW World Championship. When McLane and fans ordered the re-match, Jungle Grrrl reacted with utter hostility and beat down Tatevik ‘The Gamer’ in a show of complete disrespect.

What will happen when the two intense competitors meet in the ring for a second time? Two generations of WOW will collide Jungle Grrrl and Tatevik ‘The Gamer’ meet in this highly anticipated re-match

For years, WOW Superhero, Jade, struggled to make her way through the ranks of the toughest women’s wrestling promotion in the world. She battled endlessly just to prove herself as a legitimate competitor. However, the fates consistently denied Jade of the victory she so desperately desired. Now, though, after all of this time, it appears that the honor of her family and an interesting source of inspiration have lit a flame under WOW’s exotic Superhero.

After the loss of her grandmother ten years prior, Jade walked into the arena on January 19, 2013 shaking from nervousness. She was ready to retire from the sport she loved, but a letter from her Mother had inspired her to stay and compete at the highest level of women’s wrestling. Tensions and nerves were at an all-time high when Jade, who wore a lovely green jade around her neck, entered the ring for her return to action.

Jade’s opponent was the intimidating Desdemeana. Clad in all black. Face adorned with a lightning bolt to signify to her opponents that she will strike them down with thunderous fury. Desdemeana’s presence was enough to make opponents leave the ring in fear and forfeit the match. Not Jade, though. Jade’s experience, coupled with her resolve to win cancelled out the intimidation that Desdemeana presented her.

After placing the jade in her corner, Jade embarked on her wrestling journey that she doubted would ever be. In a fierce back-and-forth competition, Jade and Desdemeana traded blows and took each other to their physical limits. As it seemed Jade would lose another WOW match, just as Desdemeana was to pin Jade for the 1-2-3 count, Jade turned her head and looked into her corner to see her jade. With the jade fixed in her eye, Jade lifted her shoulder just in time before the third count. Then rising to the cheers of the crowd Jade grabbed and then flipped Desdemeana. Seemingly with the jade symbol of power fixed in her heart and soul, finally, Jade came through and scored the pinfall on WOW’s demented goddess.

Jade leaped to the ropes, pointed to heaven, tears came pouring from Jade and from fans as she soaked in the miraculous moment that was her first victory in WOW – Women Of Wrestling. Following the match, WOW President, David McLane entered the ring to interview a highly emotional Jade. With her breathing labored and her chest heaving, Jade thanked her mother for inspiring her to continue her career. She said that she was fighting for her grandmother’s memory. Most importantly, though, Jade mentioned that she was given the jade necklace that was in her corner and now firmly fixed in her hand by her family. Jade said that the jade is a family heirloom filled with energy which she gains strength and that seemingly drives her to go harder in the ring, fight with all of her might. Lastly, Jade thanked the fans for always believing in her and never giving up on her.

Upon returning to the dressing room to revel once more in the fact that she was victorious for the first time in the squared circle, Jade soon sat in front of her locker holding the inspiration given to her by her Mother, and was overcome with emotion as she thought of her family.

What kind of power this mystical jade holds remains to be seen. Can Jade build off of this initial win? Can she keep the momentum going? Time will tell.

Peggy Lee Leather—better known to WOW fans as Thug—was honored as the 2013 recipient of the Princess Jasmine Trailblazer Award by President of WOW, David McLane. The emotional, tear-filled extravaganza was made all the more special by the fact that WOW personnel had flown in Thug’s niece, Spike, whom Thug had not seen in a decade.

The festivities were cut short, though, when WOW World Champion Lana Star and her personal assistant Kitty stormed the ring and began verbally berating Thug, David McLane, the fans, and Spike. Fans sat and watched as the champion desecrated the legendary Thug and her career. Lana and Kitty disrespected WOW and McLane for attempting to honor Thug with the award. Lana and Kitty selfishly begged for the spotlight to be shone back upon them. This drew the ire of Thug’s niece, Spike, who sat quietly in the audience observing the disrespect that was being shown to her revered aunt.

Finally, after a slew of comments regarding “white trash,” “hillbillies,” and “rednecks,” Spike stormed the ring to put an end to Lana Star and Kitty’s verbal disrespect of her aunt and the fans. Spike and Thug told Lana to “put up or shut up,” and they challenged her to face Spike in a one-on-one contest after Spike revealed that she is actually an active competitor. Kitty—not thinking clearly—accepted the match on Lana’s behalf. Lana was furious at her assistant. However, WOW fans in attendance agreed that the match should take place. Thus, the match was set.

After a hard-fought contest full of unbelievable occurrences and unforeseen happenings that can only be seen to be believed, the referees were split in their decision on who the winner of the contest was. Due to the indecision of the officials, the championship was retained by the “Fabulous” Lana Star.

Don’t forget to buy your tickets to the March 9th WOW Superheroes Live Experience hosted by the Eastside Cannery Hotel and Casino in beautiful Las Vegas, NV, because there will be a re-match between the mysterious challenger known as Spike and the incumbent champion, Lana Star. Get your tickets now before you miss this re-match that will undoubtedly be history in the making.
